TCU and Minnesota have announced their Sept. 3 game will be featured as the prime game on ESPN’s opening Thursday night programming window.

Kickoff at TCF Bank Stadium will be at 8 p.m.

It will be the first of two Thursday night games for the Horned Frogs in 2015. TCU hosts West Virginia on Thursday, Oct. 29.
TCU will be playing at Minnesota for just the second time in its history. The Horned Frogs dropped a 9-7 decision in Minneapolis in 1974.
TCU defeated Minnesota, 30-7, last season in Fort Worth.
The Golden Gophers went 8-5 in 2014, including a 33-17 loss to Missouri in the Citrus Bowl.
The Horned Frogs return 15 starters, including 10 on offense, from last season’s 12-1 team that finished No. 3 in the final Associated Press and USA Today polls.
It will also represent a battle between TCU coach Gary Patterson and one of his best friends, Minnesota coach Jerry Kill. The Minnesota coach was a member of Patterson’s party in his most recent wedding.
It will be a big challenge for the Horned Frogs in their quest to claim a national championship next season.
The nation will be watching.
